How it all Started
I'm Jeanine Gantt, The Charleston Soap Chef®. Also known as "The Soap Lady" to some and "Momma" to my two sweet boys. In 2001, I started making soap and body care products in the kitchen while I was in graduate school studying mental health. It was a relaxing hobby that took on a life of its own. I began gifting my products and recruiting volunteers to sample my new creations. The response was very positive and The Charleston Soap Chef was born. You can find my products at the famous Charleston Farmer's Market, several retail stores and on my website. As far as being a mental health counselor? Sometimes God has different plans...

Over the past several years, I have had the opportunity to work with experienced cosmetic chemists who have helped me create optimum formulations for your skin while maintaining the personal touch of the Lowcountry with scents such as Charleston Sweetgrass, Lemon Sugah and Southern Magnolia.
